So, it appears I really am an idiot.
For quite a while I’ve been irritated by noise in my photographs. I tried everything; I shot manual, I shot auto, TV, AV, did countless googles and read and re-read my books. Eventually I blamed my PC, for its crap screen. But what I never thought to do was flick the ISO down from 400 (which I thought was perfectly acceptable), to 200. That changed EVERYTHING.
